The next edition of the Ryder Cup will be a landmark event, too, as it will be the 100th staging of the tournament.
The United States won comfortably in the maiden competition, held in Massachusetts back in 1927.
Italy was the venue when Europe last hosted the tournament, but next time out, the stage will be set in Ireland after 21 years away from the Emerald Isle.

When is the next Ryder Cup?
The Ryder Cup is a biennial tournament, meaning its next edition will be held in 2027.
The tournament will kick off on September 13, 2027, and end on September 19.
The first day of competitive play will be September 17, 2025.
Where will the next Ryder Cup be held?
After this year’s tournament at Bethpage Black, it will once again be Europe’s turn to host the Ryder Cup.
The 2027 Ryder Cup will be held at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland.

The manor house turned five-star resort was built in the 17th century, and now features a championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, also responsible for designing holes 11 and 16 at Augusta National.
It was renovated in 2017 following a redesign by Tom Fazio.
The course at Adare Manor measures 6,866m.
It hosted the Irish Open in 2007 and 2008, and the J.P. McManus Pro-Am in 2005, 2010, and 2022.
How to buy tickets for the 2027 Ryder Cup
General admission tickets are not yet available for the 2027 Ryder Cup, but will be released via a ballot at a later date.
Some 500,000 punters registered interest in buying tickets for the 2025 edition at Bethpage Black, and passes sold out in just 48 hours.
