Key Fights and Future Title Contenders

The UFC returns to Vancouver once again as a thrilling fight night takes place in Canada on 18 October.

The last time the Rogers Arena hosted an event was back in June 2023 for UFC 289.

Amanda Nunes retired after defeating Irene Aldana, retaining her UFC Bantamweight title.

But the focus is on the future, not the past, as some incredible fight announcements have been made.

Reinier de Ridder vs Anthony Hernandez

The main event is a title eliminator bout between the #5 and #6 contenders of the Middleweight division.

‘RdR’ will make his fifth UFC appearance in just 11 months with the organisation.

The Dutchman earned a split decision victory over Robert Whittaker at UFC Abu Dhabi to enter the top five.

Meanwhile, Hernandez is on an eight-fight win streak with six of his last eight battles ending with a finish.

‘Fluffy’ extended his triumphant run after submitting Roman Dolidze in the fourth round at UFC Vegas 109.

Marlon Vera vs Aiemann Zahabi

A ranked Bantamweight battle features in the co-main event between two exciting fighters.

Vera is currently on a two-fight losing streak after an unanimous decision defeat to Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC Abu Dhabi.

The Ecuadorian is looking for redemption as he has not been victorious since August 2023.

Zahabi is a rising contender in the 135-pound division, sitting on a six-fight win streak.

The Canadian went the distance with Jose Aldo at UFC 315 to win by unanimous decision and enter the top 10 in the rankings.

Kevin Holland vs Mike Malott

The Canadian has a second opportunity to enter the Welterweight rankings as he takes on the most active UFC fighter.

Holland was on a two-fight win streak, but lost it in his last bout at UFC 318 against Daniel Rodriguez by unanimous decision.

‘Trailblazer’ will compete for a fifth time in the calendar year, just the second time he has done that in the UFC.

Malott last fought for the Welterweight rankings against Neil Magny, but lost by third-round TKO at UFC 297.

The Burlington-born mixed martial artist won his last fight by knockout as he aims to be a contender of the division.

Manon Fiorot vs Jasmine Jasudavicius

Former title challenger takes on future title challenger in a highly anticipated Women’s Flyweight fight.

Fiorot battled Valentina Shevchenko for the title at UFC 315, but lost by unanimous decision.

‘The Beast’ was on a 12-fight win streak in her MMA career as she tries to claim a rematch, while finding redemption in Canada.

Jasudavicius fought in the same event, submitting Jessica Andrade in the first round to enter the top five of the 125-pound division.

The Canadian just has to win this fight, which will confirm a title shot against the current Queen of the Flyweights.
